Past Presidents Parley

As of the 2024 Department Convention:

The Department of New York American Legion Auxiliary has re-allocated activities previously assigned to this committee (Unit Member of the year to Leadership, scholarship for the Past Honorary Junior Department President to Education, and support for female veterans in the amount of $150.00 for each VAMC and NYS Veterans Home to VA&R).
NOTE: Units, Counties, and Districts may continue to have Past Presidents Parleys, at the discretion of each entity.

If Past Presidents’ still wish to pay their dues, they need to send it in with a notation of where the funds will be allocated to Female Veterans or Education Scholarships.

Past Unit President’s are the members of this committee who assume the responsibility of caring for and giving support to our ex-servicewomen. Scholarships are offered to children and grandchildren of veterans to continue in attaining higher education.

Please Note the following changes for the 2023-2024 Administrative Year: 

  • Unit Member of the Year will now be under the Leadership Committee and Unit Member of the Year Nominees will now be sent to the Department Leadership Chairman effective with the 2022-2023 administrative year. Units and Counties will report their activity under Leadership.
  • Salute to Active-Duty Servicewomen will now be under the National Security Committee and all Salute to Active-Duty Servicewomen award entries will be sent to the Department National Security Chairman effective with the 2022-2023 administrative year. Units and Counties will report their activity under National Security.

Past Presidents’ Parley dues is $5.00 per past unit president.  Please remit accordingly.
