At the National Membership Workshop held in Indianapolis, Indiana, in May 2008, we were presented with information that is very crucial for you to process your membership for the upcoming year.

National has set its first mailing of renewal dues notices as September 1, 2008. As most of you are aware, it was proposed and “recommended” at last years National Convention that National send out the dues notices earlier (around the middle of August). Evidently, since this was only a “recommendation”, it is not being acted upon.

We wanted to let you know about the situation so you could prepare a dues notification of your own in order to generate the early submission of your unit dues.

Please know that Department has no control over this situation but we wanted you to be informed so you could make your own plans on how to deal with this.

Our GALAXY OF STARS

SUN -  Our Department President Sue will be radiating the suns energy to all the heavenly bodies in the solar system to reach our goal as our brightest star twinkles her way through our great Department of New York.

MOON - Our Department Membership Chairman Karyn will be using the gravitational pull of the lunar surface and the reflection of the sun to impact and motivate our membership to retain, recruit and renew to reach extraordinary success.

PLANETS - The Ten (10) District Presidents (9 planets plus a new planet, “Quaoar”) as they revolve around the sun and generate its’ energy they will use their experience to skyrocket our membership to new heights.

COMETS - The Ten (10) District Vice-Presidents/Membership Chairmen, approaching the sun will become more brilliant and dazzling as they assist their counties and units in their pursuit of renewals and new members.

GALACTIC CORE - The Past Department Presidents, as the nucleus of the galactic system they will provide the intensity and optimism of their experience as we escalate our membership goals.

METEORS - The County Membership Chairmen, our “shooting stars”, will be streaking across the night sky leaving a glowing trail of renewals and new members.

ASTEROIDS -  The Unit Membership Chairmen orbiting the sun, our mini planets will be gathering energy from Mars, Jupiter and the Milky Way to increase their brilliance (membership) to reach goal.

STARS - All Members, glowing white hot, they are the dominant source of light in our galaxy.  The dedication of our membership (stars) to our organization continues to dazzle and twinkle as we journey through the Universe looking for new stars (members)

NEBULI -  Members to get – as a star is born we need to nurture our energies to increase our brilliance (membership) and scour the solar system in search of new members.
